During a workshop in a Fablab in Nantes, we were asked to work in a group of 3 and to create an edition by using the printing press technique. We engraved into a material, applied the color and cleaned the surface. We then put this material onto the paper.
The subject was the anthropocene. We worked on the story of a chewing-gum. Instead of going from the mouth straight into the bin, he travels a lot and ends up in polluted waters. We made a leporello and added textured elements for the touch.
It speaks particularly to children to tell a funny story but show the importance of being respectful to the environment.
Lors de ce workshop au Fablab de Nantes, en groupe de 4,nous avons créé une édition autour du thème de l'anthropocène. Nous avons choisi de travailler sur le chewing-gum afin de raconter en image son chemin, en utilisant la technique de la presse, avec de la gravure, l'application de la couleur et un transfert sur le papier. Nous montrons qu'au lieu d'aller d'un point A (la bouche du consommateur) à un point B (la poubelle), le chewing-gum voyage beaucoup et mets finalement des années à se décomposer. C'est à travers notre édition en accordéon, aussi étirable qu'un chewing-gum, que nous suivons son chemin. L'histoire et les textures de cette édition permettent aux enfants de comprendre l'importance du respect de l'environnement.
